Hi there,

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on this thread.  My DH has an appauling sperm count, low motility and at the last test 90% abnormal forms.  He was recommended to take Forceval, by our fertility consultant.  This is a strong multivitamin, which is expensive but considerably cheaper than ICSI !  You can get it from the pharmacy bit of any chemists normally.  You need to take it for at least 3 months to allow it to have any chance of working.

One of the ladies on the MAFI (Motherhood after Fertility Issues) board put her DH on Proxeed Plus, Well Man, Vit C, Folic Acid and Fish Oil and this dramatically improved his sperm's motility issues (he didn't have a problem with quantity).

Has your DH seen a urologist to see if there is any reason as to why his sperm count is so low ?  e.g. Things like a varicocele can affect sperm count and can sometimes be corrected.  Does he smoke / drink excessively or is he overweight - all things that can affect sperm production ?

I do hope that you'll be able to find a way to try at least one more ICSI cycle with your DH's sperm.

Love

Kathy

Hi Kathy

Well since I posted that message, I'm 12+3 pregnant after DICSI, unfortunately, the consensus of the clinic and a urologist was that DH's sperm wasn't good enough for use, they did take several SA's to come to this conclusion, so we did use the donor option!

They also came to the conclusion DH might have Y Chromosome deletions, something which causes male infertility and is hereditory, so we also decided we didn't want to put any child which might of resulted in going through a similar battle.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and hoping and praying it is all OK!

Love BD xx

Hi BD,

What fantastic news that your DICSI worked.   Of course you wouldn't want to potentially pass on such a serious fertility issue to any child.  How exciting that you've got your 12 week scan tomorrow - baby looks so much more like a baby by then !  Hope that it goes perfectly and you get some good pictures to keep.

Hopefully see you on MAFI in 6 months time :o)

Love

Kathy
