Hiya girls,

Who's started weaning?
What are you feeding bubs?
How much are you giving?

Finlee is 17 weeks and soooooooo ready for grub,I can't upp his milk any more as he is on 9ozs per bottle,i've tried giving him an extra bottle but he aint having none of it,When i'm cooking and we are eating his legs go ten to the dozen so i have started him on veggies and pureed fruit,He's not overly keen on the bitter fruit and he refuses point blank to eat rice.
Finlee has a 9oz bottle at 7am...9oz bottle at around 12,Some fruit or veg or small jar at 3pm with water then 9oz bottle at5/5.30pm,bath then bed till 6.30/7am.
I'm hoping to give him a new taste everyday then maybe introduce another meal in the next 2 weeks,i'll see how he goes first and how he tolerates it,At the mo he is fine and LOVES his grub, his legs go mad and he gets all exited and screetches.I don't go by guidelines,Never have and never will,I started weaning at 4mths with my other children and they have never ever been ill obv the odd cold here and there,no digestive probs, allergies etc.
I follow what my baby wants and i think he's ready as was my other 2,although i must Admit Finlee has been ready for around 4 weeks now but have been persevering to hold on till he was 16/17 weeks.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing and what other babies are ready,My nephew didnt wean till he was 8 mths,he was just not interested but in the end my sis had to as milk just wasnt enough for iron and all.I can't see how guidelines can be put inplace as no two babies are the same, strange i think.

Tanya.

I'm trying to hold out for as long as possible with Logan (partly because of the health advice but mostly cos I'm having flashbacks of drowning in little tupperware pots again - lol).

I don't think he's going to give me much choice though - I was eating an ice cream last week and he was bellowing and pulling on my arm as hard as he could to get it to his mouth. I did let him slobber on my apple yesterday and he seemed quite intrigued.

I think probably the end of this month we'll be getting started but taking it pretty slow.

Hiya,

Hard isnt it,esp when they want it,He watches us eat and you can see him looking round when he smells foods,Also if i cook whilst he's upstairs sleeping an he smells it he's up like a shot,He's a very greedy baby tho too which don't help lol.I'm going very slow but he seems to be wanting more all the time,i can't offer him what we eat as i cook with salt also i like my veggies crunchy and can't realy give him a greasy chip or gravy off my plate lol.Good luck tho.Even tho i have done this twice before it's still daunting and all the 'dont do it like that do it like this' crap changes with every child ive had. When i had Ben 12 yrs ago u weaned at 4mths,then when i had Riley 2 1/2 yr ago it was suddenly 6mths.

Aston has always been interested in us eating - and always plays up whenever food arrives (even toast!) but that is just because it means he isn't getting attention. He's been like that since 2 weeks old!

At 17 weeks he chews everything but pushes it out with his tongue so definitely not anywhere near ready for food.

Hi,

We started Ryan a couple of weeks ago, he particularly loves his breakfast. So far we have tried rice based baby breakfast cereal, carrot, parsnip, pear and cauliflower. I think DH is fed up of washing all the tiny pots already DS1 and Ryan seem to make more pots than we do.

I quite enjoyed making batches of stuff and freezing it in ice cubes last time but this time it seems a bit of a hassle, baby led weaning sounds great but my two are both big eater so I'm not sure it would be for them, plus if other animal mums can chew up/regurgitate I don't see anything wrong with humans using a food processor LOL.
