He was in a bike crash tonight, the more im sat here thinking about it the more p*ssed off im getting.

They were doing 90mph on the way to the next town and im not sure what happened but they came off, DH has road rash all down his legs and thinks he broke his arm. im glad its not worse as he had a huge thick jacket on that protected his back as you can see exactly where he slid on the road and his helmet has scrapes down it where his head hit the floor. His mate is hurt too but seemed to be ok, just road rash. The bike is a write off i think.

I KNEW i should have said no when his mate asked me if DH was allowed out to play for 10 mins. DH is pretty shook up (as to be expected) and said he wish he never went out.

I wish i could have gone to the hospital with him but i have to watch the kids (DH's dad isnt the type to play babysitter to babies Alex's age)

Oh I hope he feels better soon, and you all get over the shock. Unfortunately its not always the biker thats at fault, often its the other road users so these things happen a lot. DH loves his bike and I could never ask him to get rid. If you remember he was actually at the TT for the two weeks before Heathers EDD and arrived home only 2 days before I went into labour....
DD2 had a bike accident in March where a bloody taxi driver apparently didn't see her on a straight open road and just did a right turn straight acroos her path. Fortunately she only broke her wrist and got lots of bruises but the taxi driver tried to blame it on her as "those bikers never watch what they're doing"! The police thought otherwise though and he was prosecuted for dangerous driving.
At least your DH is safe and only has minor injuries and maybe this will put him off bikes a bit, or at least encourage his friends to have more road respect. DD2's 18 year old friend is being buried on friday after coming off his bike.............

Glad he's OK, albeit scraped and shaken.

My DH was just telling me yesterday that the guy he works with had just bought a motorbike and I had told him that no way he was allowed to get on it (can't remember the name of it, but it was a scary fast thing).

best of luck to your hubby! he must be feeling rather sore.

I wouldn't be able to get rid of my bike even though the first time I was out on it since I got pregnant last year was last Thursday.

Hi Stef,

I hope you're all ok. What's this about a pink cast? Was DH's arm broken afterall?

Scary things are bikes, in the wrong hands. But then I don't suppose cars are much better either.

Take care,

Ellie xx
