Hey since its been really quiet on here i thought id try and get some conversation going!!

Whats everyone up to at the weekend?

We were meant to be going up to our local park to see the firework display tomorrow but DS1 has developed a cold since being picked up from playgroup this morning. DH thought he was going to be ok but its pretty far to walk and i really dont think he can do it tbh! Hes still in agony when he puts weight on his left leg. But he still has a sense of humour, he came back home today with a florescent pink cast lol! Alex isnt feeling well either, hes really hot, im hoping that these vitamin drops he HAS to take will maybe help him not get sick as much as DH takes vitamins every day and never gets sick!!!!! (seriously this man only gets sick about once a year)

Today we made brownies and cattlecake(its a tray cake, really unhealthy but really yummy!!) and tomorrow we're going to be making some butterfly cakes (DS1 recently learnt to say butterfly so i think its a good idea!) and a banana loaf.

Tomorrow we're hopefully going shopping but i totally forgot what i wanted to buy!!! oops!!

On sunday we're going to have a crafty day, do some painting, then some gluing, and make some christmas decorations for our season tables tree which im quite excited about lol! We're also going to have roast pork (porks my favourite) with root veg mash and im soooooooo looking forward to it because on this "cut out the cr*p" diet i feel like im starving even though im eating proper meals and a lot of veg, i dont get it????

Hi Stef,

Keep up the good work on your healthy eating diet, I bet you're doing really well. You're still breast feeding though so take it easy and allow yourself to have a little something now and then. Who eats all these cakes you're making if you're cutting the cr*p out?? I would love the recipe for your cattlecake!

Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend. She has asked me to be her bridesmaid next June and would like me to try on a dress in Monsoon. So we'll prob do a spot of shopping and have some lunch. I'll come home early afternoon as DF has the afternoon off and would like to spend some time with the little fella, but he's out in the evening so I've got a girl friend coming over for a take away. Fish and chips or chinese, I'm not sure!! ;-)

Sunday will be a lazy day. I expect DF will be hungover, and we'll probably go for a nice long walk and do some wedding prep in the afternoon. Nothing very exciting really!!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Ellie xx

Hi Ellie

just a quick reply cos im starving and off to have a sandwich! (so not helping the diet but im reeeeeaaaaaaally hungry!!!)

I meant to ask you, hows Finns weight getting on? We're getting moaned at and weekly weigh ins because Alex gained 1lb in 2 months (dropping 2 centiles) and for a 6 month old is really small and light. Hes 13lb now which is probably more than Finn but they're just complaining because his weight gain has really really slowed down.

I was told that breastmilk isnt as good after 6 months (already posted a rant about this on BF board) and that i need to wean him, try him wiht babyrice but i cant mix with formula and she said its "not worth expressing a tiny bit of milk" so i have to mix it with water as he "needs carbs" but as i thought (and was told on BFS) that theres no calories in that! useless HV. The only thing iv done that they suggested was give him vitamin drops as they said he needs it because of his slow weight gain? well that cant hurt can it!!

Ill post the recipe for cattlecake tomorrow.

xxxxxx

Stef, I used to hand express into a bowl to mix with babyrice!  Far better than water and quick and easy too!
