hi all

well I had gynae appointment at 8am for medical management today. Got first vaginal and rectal tablets (sorry dont know proper terms so bare with my common words lol) at 9am and prepared myself for the onslaught - it didnt come.  I was starving they said breakfast was coming round - fab, it never came either. At 11.30am sent DH home to see to the dogs and bring me back lots of food.  Nurse came back at 12pm gave me more vaginal tablets. Then I got lunch! Soup and roast beef and potatoes and apple pie!!! DH got back half ab hour later with all my food so I ate a Greggs baguette and a yum yum! By 3pm still nothing happening but started to get some abdo pains.  Sent DH home to see to dogs again, and have a break.  Nurse came in at 3.30pm and said she would have to speak to doctor as nothing was happening. So cue me thinking they were gonna keep me in for ERPC.  4pm she came in and checked me internally and said cervix is closed theres no sign of any products so they would send me home and Id have to come back tomorrow for a scan to see what was still there and Id prob have to get an appoint for surgical evac.  The main reason I was peed off with this is that I started bleeding for 4 days on 4th October (3 weeks ago), had a scan on 7th october (the day bleeding stopped) then again on 19th october. Nothing had changed in any of the scans, sac and thickened lining still vey obvious.  Told them numerous times had no bleeding since initial 3/4 days bleeding, and yet she said shes sending me for a scan to see whats there? Im no doctor but even I can tell her whats there!! so need to wait ANOTHER day for ANOTHER scan then get booked in for ERPC!!

So question number one if I have a straightforward ERPC say on Thursday what are my chances of feeling up to going out on Saturday??? Failing that Im gonna get a date next week, been looking forward to this night out since MMC cant miss it need a blow out!!

So annoyed as its my week off to do xmas shopping, spent all day in hosp for nothing today then will have to go there tomorrow too then prob Thur for ERPC, and DH cant come now as he has no hols left :-(

Thanks for reading if you got this far!

Message: (((hugs))) How frustrating for you.  I haven't had an ERPC myself but I'm sure some of the other ladies have and could advise you.  It's so annoying being sent for repeat scans when you know what they will say.  I was reffered for another scan when the first one showed me at 6 weeks when I should be 12 weeks just in case I'd mucked up my dates.  I knew I couldn't be 6 weeks, I'd had a BFP 7 weeks before.  Is there anyone else who can come with you for your ERPC?  If you can afford it your DH should be entitled to unpaid leave.  My DH took that for 2 days after my natural miscarriage as I'd had a PPH and was quite poorly.

hi sweetie i am so sorry this process is being dragged out for you i can only imagine how much you must be hurting right now.

with regards to the erpc i had one with my 2nd loss it went well and after an hour or 2 i felt well enough to go home. i felt rather crampy for the next couple of days but only similar to period type pains and my blood loss was just like a heavy period. i think if you want to go out saturday then do so if you feel up to it. sometimes these things can knock you for 6 not only physically but emotionally too.

i am sorry to hear dh wont be able to come with you to the hospital again have you got a member of your family or a good friend who could go with you?

i truly hope the next few days are gentle on you. you will be in my thoughts.

(((ELAINE))) I'm so sorry this is being dragged out for you. I really hope the hospital sort it out so you can go to your do on Saturday. Will someone else be able to go with you for the next appointment(s)?
I didn't have ERPC but had 'products' manually removed due to bleeding so I suppose the same sort of thing. I was physically better by the next day - no worse than a bad period anyway.

Really crossing my fingers this is physically resolved for you quickly - it's not fair you've had weeks of messing about. Jen xx

Thanks for the replies guys.

Well off I went for my 1.50pm appointment today, finally got seen at 3pm! Doctor was fantastic very thorough and explanatory.  Scan showed exactly the same (as I knew it would) doctor said she was concerned it may be ectopic as it could be a dummy sac and as my body had no reaction at all to the medical management. So got more bloods taken, having ERPC on Tuesday afternoon (yay I get my day out!!) the sac will be tested to see if it is infact a product of conception or a dummy sac and I've to go back next Friday for more blood tests and will take it from there! Keep getting abdo pain down at the right side though ouchn. and still no bleeding, she did say anything could happen before Tuesday but just to give them a call if it does.
