Hi Ladies,

This is the first time I have used this board but just wondered if anyone has had a medical management of miscarriage where they give you tablets?

My story:

I had a very small bleed at 7 weeks, had blood tests every 48 hours to see what my hormones levels where, they increased lightly each time but did not double. They then thought I had an ectopic pregnancy but scan showed this was not the case but baby too small and struggling and told me I would miscarry. A day later this started to happen and after bleeding for almost a week had another scan this monday but told that sac and baby still there.

They offered tablets or surgery to remove this but deceided to try and let nature take its course however bleeding now slowed down and therefore made the decision to take the tablets tomorrow as really want this nightmare over.

I have an appointment tomorrow at the hospital but really dont know what to expect after I take the tablets as the leaflets they give you are not really clear.

Can anyone advise me please.

Thank you for reading my post.

Hi. I'm really sorry you've lost your baby. I've no personal experience of medical management but there is a thread further down the board where people have posted about their experiences, I hope you find it helpful. http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-ukpbmiscarry&msg=21506.18&ctx=0
The miscarriage association website also has a lot of helpful info, much better than the NHS stuff. http://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/

I hope it's over for you physically very soon, the emotional recovery takes longer - do keep posting if it helps to 'talk'. Jen xx

Hi

I'm really sorry you have had a m/c.  I'm not sure what to expect from the tablets but I have had the injection as mine is ectopic.  I had this on sunday and so far I've only had a bit of nausea and light headedness but nothing else.

Hope you get some answers soon.  Can you ring your EPAU and ask them ?

Look after yourself.

Kaz x

Hi Kaz,

Thank you for your message. Went up to the hospital today and now a lot clearer about what to expect. Look after yourself too and hope everything goes ok for you too.
