Message: Hi
I am Lucy and found out after being admitted to hospital due to dehydration from morning sickness that I am expecting twins. My due date is the 6th of June so its very early days. Two days on a drip and medication has made me feel like a new women still loads of nausea but so much better.
This is my first pregnancy but I am full time step mum to my partners two little girls aged 3 and 5 so life is pretty hectic anyway. At the weekend I was just so relieved to stop being sick and to know that the pregnancy was going ok now I am starting to panic about how on earth we will cope with 4 children. No one said if the twins were identical or not but the scan showed two distinct little bubbles each with a tiny baby and beating heart amazing.

Hi Lucy

Welcome to the board and congrats on your twin pregnancy! I totally sympathise with you being hospitalised - I also had hyperemesis and was in hospital for a couple of days when I was about 10 wks - oh, the morning sickness was so awful! This does pass though, normally when you reach about the 12wk mark and your placenta takes over. I stopped being sick round about 14-15 wks, but felt much much better from about 12 onwards.

We all worry about how we'll be able to cope, and when it's twins, well that's even more of a worry! But I'll tell you, and the rest of the twin mums on here will tell you, that you do cope. I live 200 miles from my family, my in laws are about as much help as a chocolate fireguard and my DH went back to work when the twins were two weeks old. I worried how I was going to manage but I did and you do, and to be totally honest, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting ;)

Let the news sink in and you'll feel a lot more confident about it! There is nothing more special than having twins.

Hi Lucy

Welcome to the Board and congratulations on discovering you are expecting twins.

I am sorry to hear that you have been so sick, but what a wonderful surprise to be scanned and to see two little babies in there.

Being a twin mummy will be a lot of hard work - with two little ones already, but you will manage ..... eventually, lol. It's a wonderful experience being a twin mummy. Fingers crossed your sickness passes and you can start to enjoy your pregnancy.
