Midwife came this morning and seemed to notice immediately that i wasn't doing too good. She seemed to ask about baby blues straight away and thinks Jess might have a bit of colic.

I told her how Jess would seem to tantrum, going very red in the face and arching her back despite having been fed, winded, nappy done & cuddled. After sending boyf out to the pharmacy there & then, i have started infacol treatment now.

I have also agreed that my mum will come & take Jess this afternoon for a few hours so i can actually shower, do my hair and have an hours sleep! She's also offered to take her Friday night to give me  & boyf a chance to go out & relax over a nice meal & a bottle of wine but i'm unsure about that just yet.

After looking on the internet about colic, it seems it may be the problem. It just all fits! I didn't realise that babies might actually feed quite well & continue to put on weight whilst having this pain! M/wife wants to visit again Saturday and i have the health visitor for the 1st time on Friday. She said to give the  infacol a week or so to work.

Here's hoping...

Hiya Hun,

Sorry to hear about Jess' colic. My DD had awful colic when she was a baby so I really do sympathise with you.

Are your BF or FF? If FF then have you tried the anti colic bottles? I used Dr Brown's. Also, I didn't find the Infacol much use but used Colief instead. It is expensive (around £10) for a tiny bottle but I did find it helped. I was able to get it on prescription from my doctor but I know not all doctor's prescribe it. Worth asking though.

Not much more you can really do unfortunately, but it does eventually pass honey.

Take care x

Hi Kate, I'm formula feeding Jess at the moment with aptamil. Gonna give the infacol a week and if there is no improvement, i'll seek further advice.

Thanks
