Hi All, Thanks to all of you who sent nice messages to claire. Ill print them off to show to her. I've spoken to Claire a couple of times today. This morning she was examined and scanned by another doc who said the baby's head is now a bit more down. They said they would induce her today. However because she wasn't booked in for induction she now has to wait until tomorrow when they have a 'slot', regardless of the pain she is in. I can't believe this is what the NHS has come to, I swear if Gordon Brown knocked on my door tonight I would wring his neck! So she has had another day of pain, lots of codeine and when I spoke to her last (at 7.15pm) she was waiting for a doc to come and write a prescription for another morphine shot to hopefully get her through the night. A nurse also examined her and found her cervix to be 2cm dilated and soft so she thinks they can forgo the first part of the induction (a 24 hour pessary to soften the cervix and dilate to 2cm) and go straight to breaking her waters in the delivery room. I know Claire was frustrated that she had got to wait another day to be induced only then to have to wait a further 24 hours for the pessary to take effect so she is really hoping they will not do this bit now. Im hoping to visit her tomorrow, I haven't been able to today or this evening as my DH is away and Im looking after Claire's DD1 (plus my own little girl) so that Claire's DH Simon can be at the hospital. The girls are both off to nursery tomorrow and Im at work so In hoping to sack off work at some point and visit her in the day. Hope to have some more positive news soon. Angie (Mums due Jan 2010) xxx
