Hello,

Having read another post I am worrying now. I know baby has moved around significantly less over the last week, but as there were still some periods of movement I thought it was probably just that there's less room now. Am I being neglectful really? I had a good bit of alien style tummy churning earlier this evening, but it was only for maybe 30 seconds. Do you think I should be going for a monitor tomorrow?

Babes do move less over the last weeks , all mine have and this one included.

Your best bet is to trust your instincts, if you feel baby's movements are still within normal for you then fine. If in doubt go and get monitored, nothing like it for putting your mind at rest.

Hi Wendy

I seem to have a couple of days each week when baby's moved less than usual. I've been to the day unit three times for monitoring when I've been concerned and each time they've said they'd rather I come in than leave it.  It seems my boy gets himself in awkward positions so I don't feel him as much.

It sounds as if your girl's been moving quite a lot previously with her breech/cephalic presentations so it may be that as she's got less room she's moving less now.  There should be 10 episodes of movement throughout the day but I know it's not easy to keep track, especially when you have another one in tow.  Basically, if in doubt, give your MW/ hospital a call and I'm sure they'll check you out.

Hi Wendy,

I remember there being far less movements towards the end and in fact the day I went into labour she hardly moved at all!

As others have said, trust your instinct and if in doubt go and get monitored. They would rather you come in to be on the safe side than stay at home and worry.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I've had a good day of movement (probably due to all the sugar that I seem to have consumed, lol). I will go in if the movements get any less again.
