Hi ladies, just a few quick questions.

How long were your babies in size 1 nappys for? I know i guess its based on there weight but dont want to buy loads only to find they dnt fit!

Comforters, ive had a few toy comforters as presents, when can you give them to baby?

Sleepless nights..do you ever get used to them lol?

Em x

Hi Em :)

I stocked up on size 2 nappies thinking i was having another big baby!! Joseph was only 7lb 1oz so had to get more size 1 nappies. Hes still in them now, but im not having to overlap the sticky bits anymore lol, think he'll still be in em for a good few more weeks yet lol!!  Id go by how tight or loose they are on baby, but size 1 nappies are for up to 11lb ( i think).

As for the toy comforters, peronally i wouldnt leave baby alone with them while they are so tiny, only coz atm joseph has started grabbing things .. like my finger or his muslin square and trying to stuff them in his mouth hehe, he also flicks his dummy out too, and id just be abit worried of it covering his face if he grabbed it and i wasnt there.

Re the sleepless nights, you do kinda get used to em, best thing ive found is to make a bedtime routine.. mine is as follows: bath or top n tail before his 7-8ish feed ( and i normally give him a boob feed then... im mixed feeding .. advised by HV as my milk isnt filling him ), then hes normally more awake but lights are low downstairs and tv not too loud, then he normally drifts off and for his 10-11pm feed i put him in his sleeping bag, very little talking and quiet, change nappy, and take him upstairs to moses basket and thats him till next feed, ive done this since last week, and tuesday he slept till 4am ( next feed at 8am), wednesday he slept till 5am ( next feed 9am) and this morning he slept till 6am, and im gonna feed him shortly ( 10am). Ive found that having the routine has deffo helped and i feel so much better getting longer stretches of sleep.. feel quite normal this morning lol!! ( i did a similar thing with my other 3 children and theyve all slept through from about 3-4 weeks old )

Anyway hope this helps

Hugs Louise and Joseph ( 3wks today!!)

I changed to size 2 when chloe was two weeks I just found the size one were getting a bit tight at the top of her thighs, theres not a massive size difference between pampers size 1 and 2.

Personally I wouldnt give the comforters due to risk of suffocation even though there tiny and tbh I dont think there much of a comfort anyway when there still so tiny.

Lack of sleep, I think it depends on the person I can function better on less sleep, If I sleep for more than six hours I feel more tired for some reason. You never know tho your lo may start doing longer stretches of sleep soon I cant beleive chloe is sleeping so long now and is breastfed, I was preparing myself for every two hours wakening until she was weaned.

Hi Em

Newborn nappies lasted 3 days with us, so they were a complete waste of money.

Senan is in size 1 and is now 11lb 1oz but they still fit him really nicely at the moment. I always find that when they are ready for the next nappy size they poo straight up their back!!! Yum lol. In New Zealand you can only buy small packs of size 1 because they assume your baby won't be in them for more than a month.

I have just given my 17 month old a sleep toy now. I know this is fairly late, but I would rather not have clutter in the cot personally.

Sleepless nights, yes you do get used to functioning on very little sleep - its never fun, but you get quite good at it. What's really hard is when they get better and you get used to more sleep again, then they revert back to poor sleep for a growth spurt or teething - just about kills you off!
