Further to Emmas FB status today..here is a post in an attempt to bring a little bit of life to the board again ;-)

What are your plans with the kids over the school holidays?

Belle has her operation tomorrow so the first week wont be too exciting as we're not meant to be out and about. My parents will also be here so no doubt we'll go to a few places. I really would like to try and go to Hever Castle at some point, has anyone been?

Belle then goes to Spain with my parents and her dad, he is just staying for one week so she has a week on her own with my parents, but I'll ahve 2 weeks of no kid!!! What will I do with myself???

I'm then going over for 2 weeks and we get back on a Thursday night and she'll start school on the Monday morning so doesn't give us much time!

Lisa x

Hiya!

We haven't made any firm plans as yet, but at some point we're going to Newcastle to visit FIL for a long weekend.
My parents are going to have Aidan to stay overnight for 2 nights every other week, which will be nice for him and us, lol!

Other that that we will try to be out and about with friends as much as the weather permits, we'll all go crazy if we get stuck in the house, lol!

I hope everything goes well with Belle's operation tomorrow and that she recovers quickly.

Hello Lisa and all <waves>

I think I am probably in for six weeks of hell as we have NOTHING planned!

All our finances are tied up in a big holiday to Florida in December (have been since last October), so it will be free things like bike rides, visits to the beach, country parks etc - but even they aren't free by the time you add in drinks and food, even if you pack a picnic it still costs extra doesn't it?

I have to work every day too, not many hours, but always tricky when the kids are around and there is so much background noise (usually bickering!).

Perhaps now would be a good time to take up meditation to help me remain calm?

I hope you all have good summers.

Hi Lisa,

Belle is doing well thanks. The hospital told us days 4-7 would probably be worse but day 3 was the hardest where she refused all medicine, food and drink and we thought she was going to have to be readmitted on a drip!

We've been told not to go out for 2 weeks to stop infection especially as we have a lot of swine flu round here. But, I think a week is long enough, we're going a bit stir crazy stuck in here!

Thats nice for you guys and for Aiden to go to his Grandparents. I wish mine were closer at times. I have my mum and dad here now for 2 weeks but that can be too much. Especially as the weather has been rubbish, they're stuck in the house and bored.

Hi Lou,

Are some holidays easier if you have more than 1, do they keep each other entertained or fight more?

Lucky you going to Florida! Will you be out there for Christmas or are you going just before? Will you be flying from Heathrow?

I would like to maybe get a trip into Legoland next week as we have annual passes that wont get used this summer due to Belle going to my parents for a month. My mum is also thinking about going to Gloucester for a day trip to visit her aunt, hopefully she'll take Belle as my great-aunt hasn't met her yet.

I know what you mean about working from home, I done iot Friday and it was a nightmare. Hardly got anything done due to everyone being around, telly on etc.

Hope this week has been ok for you, its not really been the weather for picnics!
