Hi Ladies,
My consultant wanted me to have a scan before discussing my drug regime today, which i obviously did not argue with, lol! I'm 16+1 and the scans i've been having at my obgyn's have been really quick and not so clear on his crappy scanner so i was really pleased to go to a proper place for one.
It was FAB. The sonographer checked the heart, kidneys, bladder, spine, brain etc... and said all looked great. He also knew the sex but we're not finding out (and besides, DH wasn't there), i have to say although we totally don't want to know i found it a little weird that he could tell and now there are 2 people (he and his assistant) that know what we're having, hmmmmm. It has made me less anxious about my official 20 week scan anyway.
Anyhow, cervix measured 3.5 - which they tell me is good, i have no idea about that - and it is closed. Placenta has moved up so no longer anterior, yippee!
I'm halving my steroid dose then will stop altogether at 28 weeks, i'm weaning off the pessaries now and will remain on Clexane and aspirin until 35 weeks.
All other stuff (thyroxine, folic Acid, Vit B6 etc..) all continuing until the end and they've tested my iron and B12 today (at my request) so if any probs with those we'll address that in the next couple of days.
All in all i'm happy with what we've agreed on. He's said that we'll have weekly checks on placental function once i cease the clexane and aspirin just for my peace of mind really as he says all will be absolutely fine.
So a good appointment all round :-)
