The phone call I have been dreading!!!!!! GP has just phoned to ask me if I want the vaccination. What a decision to make. I think I am leaning more on the side of no but still not sure sure.

What are everyone else's thoughts?

They have booked me in for next week and I can cancel if I want to.

Hey hun,

This is a tough one and a very individual decision. I have absolutely no intention of having it, none of my Drs have so much as mentioned it to me either and when i saw my GP the other day i asked what her opinion was and she said she wouldn't have it if it was her and we'll only really know of any negative effects once babies are born who have been exposed to it, which is fact i suppose no matter how much 'testing' they say they've done on animals.

You're so close to the end now that i'd weigh it up very carefully. You're no longer at work so your risk has dropped dramatically too.

I'm just not someone who trusts everything someone in a white coat tells me, lol! They've been wrong about things in the past.

This is just my personal opinion hun and i can't state any medical facts as to why people shouldn't have it but i don't believe anyone can guarantee it's safety 100% either.

Talk it over with your DH, if you come to a decision you're both comfortable with then go with that. It does also help that we're coming in to Summer over here so we're out of the 'flu season' if you like.

I know that won't have helped AT ALL, sorry! Just sharing my thoughts.

Love,
Joanne xx

I feel the same as you. Wish they would give it to DH instead as he is still at work and could bring infection into the flat....if he had it risk really would be minimal. Thanks for sharing your thought...I know it is a very personal decision and there is right answer............just need to weigh up the risks??????

Hope you are doing well honey.

Love

Hiya

It is a difficult decision and has been all over the news recently - as if there aren't enough difficult decisions to make in life?!  I am thinking no too and this was even more confirmed when I asked my midwife and she basically said that she wouldn't have it and she's not pregnant - she was quite adament which I found surprising in one way because I would have thought she would have been a bit more on the fence but at the same time I'd rather she was honest with me.

So that has pretty much made my mind up, especially as I'm in the early stages still.

Only you and your DH can decide what to do but if I was you I wouldn't have it - you are so close and the chances of you getting the virus in the next four weeks is so slim that it's not worth the risk.  (Just my opinion though!).
