Hiya - I miscarried in March and July this year - both at 10 weeks.  Both natural miscarriages as I wanted to avoid medical intervention, both turned out to be pretty physically traumatic - and emotionally, goes without saying.

Fast forward to now - I have had been feeling "odd" for the last week or so. Pregnancy signs "odd".   Last AF was 08 Oct - usually on a 33 day cycle but not sure if most recent m/c has meddled with that? Though Oct AF did come smack on when predicted.   I definately ovulated around the 21st Oct.

Anyway - Monday I decided to go to the local "pound" shop and bought 4 tests for £3 (bargain!).  Same sort of ones as the EBay cheapies.  Tested soon as I got home (as you do) and it was inconclusive really - coulndt see a line, but couldnt not see one if you know what I mean.

Tested with FMU on Tuesday.  Same as Monday.

Tested today and there is a definate, albeit feint line.  AF not due til Monday 9th Nov.

Is it poss to get a +ve just under a week early with cheapies?

Plus - if it is a BFP - How the hell am I going to get through the next couple of months without cracking up at the slightest twinge???

Hello xx

Yes it is VERY possible to get a positive early, i got a BFP this time round and when i went for my early scan it turned out i was only just 3 weeks pregnant when i got my positive (my af hasnt been very regular since my mmc in June so wasnt too sure of dates)

I miscarried in June this year and it was extrememly traumatic and i ended up in hopsital for a few days. I got my positive 6 weeks ago and have been a nervous wreck since. As Debs said before - i so wish there was a fast forward button. I am lucky and have a really lovely woman at my local epu, she is scanning me every 2 weeks to keep me reassured and she is keeping me pretty positive by keep telling me that every pregnancy is different.

Do you have a local epu near you? I would try and contact them, it really helps when you get support. The other thing that has kept me going is this board, it is really supportive. I hope you are ok and sending you loads of sticky vibes xx If i have gone on too much im sorry, i just know where you are right now, i was petrified when i found out i was pregant again but you need to stay positive and relax xxxxx sending you big hugs tooo xxxxxx

Hiya, thanks.  Another test today of a different brand has truly confirmed I am pregnant.  I just wish I could feel really happy and positive instead of petrified and pessimistic!

Last time I m/c my GP did say I would be referred for early scanning when I am pregnant again so thats a bonus in a way but given that I m/c both times at 10 weeks (by dates - babies measuring 9+5 and 9 weeks respectively at scans) a scan at 6, 7 or 8 weeks is not really going to put my mind at rest iyswim?

Gah!  When do you reckon its best to go to the GP?  I was thinking maybe latter part of next week?  By then I would have properly missed a period.

How does everyone else cope with this?  Any more words of wisdom for me?    I am usually so clear and straight thinking but this has thrown me into a ditherering fool!

Hi, congratulations on your BFP. I had a MMC in May at a similar stage to you, and have found first trimester really tough going, particularly as I've had various bleeds etc similar to last time. I've had a couple of early scans due to bleeding but didn't feel very reassured as last time I'd had scans showing everything was fine only for the baby to die a few days later. All you can do is take each day as a positive, and post on here whenever you have a wobble - everyone is very understanding and supportive. I'm hoping it gets easier as you get further past your danger point, I have been reassured by a good 12 week scan, but still not ready to commit to buying baby (or maternity) stuff again. It's a real shame that PAL takes all the joy out of it, but there are people here to celebrate good news, hold on to hope when you start to lose it, or be a shoulder to cry on if you need it.

I hope this time you get to stay the full 9 months and that you have a pregnancy as worry free as possible. Jen xx
