Welcome to the board Mumnic and baby mumnic Congratulations on your little boy. Your little boy sounds like he is doing well in the weight stakes. I dont remember my boys having lung bleeds. We did have problems with ventilating Harry as he had lots of scar tissue. Joe had bleeding in the brain. Bleeds are quite common with premmies as their vessels are so delicate. Fingers crossed that is goes from strength to strength. I know you have a long journey ahead of you. Did you have steroids before your little one was born. I didnt and I know that is why we had so many lung problems with them both. Joe and Harry were born at 26 weeks. We had experiences of Brain bleeds, steroids as difficulty getting Harry off the ventilator, morphine withdrawal, acute renal failure, PDA ligation surgery at 3 weeks old, numerous infections. I know there was more but I cant think of them off the top of my head. Harry came home on oxygen and was on it for til he was nearly 1. Dont forget there were 2 of them and a lot of the problems they had was due to the twin to twin transfusion they suffered from prior to birth. I am more than happy to share my experiences. We have an online blog which I am happy to share with you. Get as much rest as you can as the stress is amazingly exhausting. Get people to provide healthy food, sleep when you can, forget housework and think of yourselves and your family. People dont realise what you are going through. Big hugs to you all....does your son have a name yet? love Donna Co CL on Prem and Special Care babies board
