Hi Bev, I hope everything is progressing well with your pregnancy.  I just wanted to post a reply to your message, to reassure you and any other mum's with low PAPP A levels that it does not necessarily mean that anything is wrong.  I had a very very very low level (0.2 mom I think).  I looked it up on the internet (big mistake!) and was terrified that my baby would either not grow or be premature, or I'd have complications like pre-eclampsia.  Well, she certainly did not have any growth issues - she was 8lb 8 when born!  She is now 3 months old and all is fine.  And I didn't get pre-eclampsia or any other complications that you can read about.  I hope your pregnancy goes the same way!

Hi Bev

Its not one I have heard of unfortunatley so can't give any personal experience but I just wanted to say congratulations on the pregnancy.

Consultant care isn't so bad (for me it just meant more appointments!) and the extra scans can be a great reassurance.

Let us know how things go and we will send you loads of good luck vibes.

Love

Kath

Thanks Claudine. It's nice to hear some reassurance from someone who has been through the same thing!

Quick update: Baby is measuring small, and will likely be born with a low birthweight. I'm having growth scans every few weeks to keep an eye on her. She is currently over 1lb under the weight she should be, and hasn't put on as much as a 'normal' baby. But the consultant did say that they have no measurements for people with low PAPP A, so they can only base it against 'normal' weights. At 32wks she was 3lb, and I'm having another scan in 3wks time, so will see what she weighs then.

Thanks again.
