Hi

I started bleeding nearly every 2 weeks from 8 weeks and then every day since 16 weeks.

Been in and out of hospital, countless scans and baby is fine and no idea where the bleed is from.

I pass clots and at times it gushes (esp when I first get up after sitting etc and normally down the loo) which is scary. It is mostly bright red now but can go to rust, pink and brown.

I do sometimes get cramps with the bleeding as well!

I just wanted to here from other people who are going through or have gone through the same thing!

I am now 22 weeks and so scared of have an early baby! I am so scared of all this blood!

However that said I have got this far and baby is well!

Hi there. I am from the Due Dec board and saw your message. With my first DD, I too bled like this. Let me start from the beginning hehe.

I had 2 MC's before, then about 3 weeks after my second MC I had a massive bleed. My morning sickness returned and I rang the Dr saying I suspected pregnancy. He laughed at me but told me to test, I did ths and it came up positive. Thats where it started with the endless scans at the EPU, until they finally told me they would not scan as there was no cause and nothing they could do. The bleeding came and went, was sometimes heavy, sometimes light. I felt sick with worry from the minute I found out I was pregnant. I never felt excited about the baby, just a felling of dread. It was the worst time ever. I felt she was going leave me at any time, iykwim.

Anyway, I finally got to that magic stage of 37 weeks, and I relaxed. The Dr then told me at 39 weeks to go have sex to help labour along ( as you can imagine due to bleeding we hadn't dare do anything like that ). Well, we took her advice, and I bled out straight after. It was awful, it was a 999 job to the hospital. They monitored me for a day and we were fine. Madam finally arrived 2 hours and 25 minutes after her due date. Healthy and screaming. Never found out why I bled, just one of those things. She is one of the healthiest kids I know, only gets the odd cold. In fact, this year was the first time she has ever had panicillin, and shes 7 in Feb.

My second DD, I had no bleeding whatsoever. Sailed through the whole pregnancy. This time I have had bleeding on and off, not as severe and tbh I'm not too concerned. I think that for some ppl, it just happens.

Sorry I've waffled on a bit, but I hope this has helped you, and I hope the rest of your pregnancy is trouble free. Take care, and if you need me, just pop onto the MD Dec 2009 board. take care xxxx

HI,

Sorry to hear that - however there are quite a few I know personally who have experienced bleeding during their pregnancies for some unexplained reason.

I had it for 3 weeks. My friend had it between week 5 to week 14 and after on and off. Another friend had bleeding on and off right throughout 2 of her pregnancies. The babies were always fine.

You always have to get it checked out of course - I would also say regularily during pregnancy ( though I am not a doctor - but I would want to be reassured)- but try not to worry ( I know will be impossible to do) - if they have checked out bubs and placenta, etc and everything is fine - it is very reassuring.

As I said - get them to keep checking it out - however many do have this and end up with healthy babies:-)

Angxxx
