Hiya

wonder if u can help i've been feeling generally pants for a couple of weeks but for about the last week-ish i've lost my appetite, am knackered, been weeping (don't normally do crying!), feel sick, and a bit dizzy. I usually smoke (max 8 per day) but haven't since saturday as couldn't be bothered going to the shop, didn't yesterday either or today and have been to a shopping centre so could of easily bought some but seem to have lost interest!  About 3 of my mates have asked me today if i was pregnant when i told them how I was feeling and I said no as my last period started on 28th Sept (although it wasn't quite as long or painful as the month before) but they got me thinking.  I happened to have a clear blue digital test knocking about so did it just to rule out the possibility but I nearly fell over when it came up pregnant +3!!!!!!!! So whats the score there then?? Could it be a false +ive or be wrong in some way?? Bit confused here when i feel pregnant with my 2 1/2 yr old we were actively ttc so think i tested on the day period was due and never had any bleeding or anything - not sure what to do now any help would be great

cheers

Hi

its pretty difficult to get a false positive so I think its safe to say Congratulations!

if you're not sure do another test and pop to see the doctor.  The bleeding that you had could have been implantaion bleeding but looking at the timing on the test (which gives it as weeks from conception not weeks from last period so you'd be 5+ weeks really) it was probably just a light period.  With both my children I had a bleed bang on teh time I should have had my period for the first three months (scared me witless every time!)

HTH

Hiya

thanks for replying and thanks for the congrat's - still think I'm a bit shocked i thought i had a bug or something!!  jeez not surprised u were scared witless - nightmare.

I think i'll go the drs then but they don't really do anything do they when u say uv taken a hpt.  I'm a bit scared to do another test in case it it comes back -tive - I'm sure it won't tho as i feel so rubbish but don't wana tempt fate tho if u no what i mean.  Also panicking now as i've been taking pain killers for the last week as I'd done my shoulder in and i never take tablets - is that really bad i've not been taking loads maybe 1-2 nurofen a day?? Even tho my little fella is 2 1/2 it seems like a lifetime ago since i was pregnant

Thanks a lot for ur help

x

Hi

I know you shouldn't take ibruprofen when you're pregnant but I'm not sure why.  Best thing to do is just stop taking them now and mention it to the doctor when you go. you're right they probably won't do a test if you say you've done a hpt. only thing i can suggest is going with all your symptoms and when they say could you be pregnant say' oh maybe that didn't occur to me!' :O) they use the same tests as an hpt but at least then you wouldn't have to get up the nerve to look at the stick!!

fingers crossed x

Hi there,

Just wanted to say 'congratulations' on your positive test :-)  If you're not certain of your dates, maybe ask your dr for an early dating scan?

Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy

Love
