Hi everyone,

just wondering how many of your babies already sleep in their own room?

Jasmine is 7 weeks sat and wont settle in her basket (never has). Anyway i want to get the cot routine established but dont like the thought of leaving her as shes a lot younger than my other daughter when we moved her into her own room.

At the minute im getting 4 hrs sleep a nightcos shes so bad for settling if not on me.

Any advice would be great.

Sam x

I'm afraid my daughter spent two nights in our room and then was moved to her own room and straight into a cot.

She is now 7 weeks old and we are getting around 6/8 hours sleep most nights. She has a bottle at 10 and then she tends to sleep until about 5.30-6. I have a good monitor and was the best thing we did xxx

Hi sam

we're using the travel cot with a basinette beside our bed at night so stephen is getting used to a cot but the cotbed can stay in the nursery. I'll start day time naps in the cotbed soon. if you have a travel cot it might be worth trying until you're confident leaving jasmine in her own room.

Toby wont be going in to his own room for a while yet, I just dont feel comfortable with it and id be up checking on him a few times in the night anyway so he might as well be in with us. Its only recently ive stopped getting up to check on DS1 in the night, though I think I will start again now the weather is colder and he tends to uncover himself.

Toby has outgrown his basket so will be going in to the travel cot asap. I will start putting him down in his big cot for daytime naps though, as soon as his daytime pattern is more established. At the moment he tends to nap rather than have big daytime sleeps xxx

Message: Cameron will be in with us until he is 9 months or around then. We had DS in with us until he was 9 months aswell then he went into his own room. Cameron doesnt have his own room anyway so will be sharing with DS. However im going to start putting cameron down in his cot and have me and DP downstairs, i have a good monitor for DS and a video monitor for Cameron so i can keep an eye on him.
