How do you know if something is wrong with your LO....

Mollie started off with Colic, then got a cold, has had a poorly tummy (diarrhea), got a runny nose again now and is very cranky! I feel like im doing something to cause all this.

She has a rash on her neck but it looks like a heat rash and isnt anywhere else apart from her neck, she has been sleeping loads in last few days and also not having full feeds, now she wont settle to sleep for very long - we get her off and then she will go from being asleep to screaming out.

Last night i finally got her to sleep about 1am, made sure she was settled and went to bed at 1.30am then she was awake and scranky again at 2am so got back up with her, she finally went back at 3.30am and woke for feed about 5.30am, back to bed at 6am and slept until 9am.
She hasnt had much sleep today so was hoping for a good nights sleep tonight but she is cranky again. She is asleep at the moment but its the 4th time in the last hour!

I dont know if she is poorly or growing or what...
Im going away on Friday until Sunday and im dreading leaving her with DH if she is like this as he wont cope, he is so stroppy when he is tired and i will be worried sick.

Am i panicking or should i take her to doctors?
What do you think?

I feel like im a useless Mum and i should know what to do :0(

I think you ought to take her to the doctor even if it is just to make you feel better. She might just be having a growth spurt if shes cranky. I know they say not to but have you tried laying her belly for bed. we wwould of been when we were young and it should help her colic?

For her rash i'd keep it nice and clean and put a little talc on it to make sure its dry cos it could be sweat rash or maybe even the beginning of chapping.

might be worth seeing what others say

hope she settles for you

If you're worried take her to the doctors, her rash could jsut be heat rash, my elder daughter gets a rash every time she's got a temperature, have you taken Mollie's temp.

It could be a growth spurt or maybe she's got a cold, cold's affect baby's differently to us and they get loads because every bug is different.

It's nothing you're doing, you're doing everything you should.

If it helps Allanah is going through another growth spurt, she's crying (screaming mainly) alot and she's stopped sleeping, and is snacking rather than eating so it's possible that it's something similar that Mollie is going through.
You're definitely not useless if you were useless you wouldn't be concerned and worried about your baby ((HUGS))

hey deb

has mollie still got the cold? wen chloe had a cold (and even for a little while after) she would sleep all the time and then like mollie suddenly wake up and scream for food, she also didnt have full feeds but little and often, is this the case with mollie? apparently thats normal. or like you say she may just b going through a growth spurt. and the colic im guessing isnt helping.. is she to young for calpol? this may really help to settle her..i reckon pop to the docs and ask.. i am sure she is fine though...

i will always remember my midwife saying to me that the three main signs that a baby has something wrong (i mean other than colds etc) is if they stop feeding (compleatly stop) if they go a sort of grey colour and if their eyes glaze over.. so just keep an eye for those things... but im sure mollie will b just fine.

you are certainly not a useless mum, you're doing a fantastic job.. its impossible to know everything that may b wrong with are babys.. if you were a useless mum you wouldnt be getting up in the night to soothe mollie and certanly wouldnt b posting on here..you're doing great:)
