Has any one used Fenugreek? I have been giving elisah formula feeds on a day while I am at uni and cos it's 2 days in a row my milk seems to fade a little but cos this has been happening for a few weeks I have slowly had to give her top up feeds and my milk seems to get even lower so I have bought some fenugreek capsules and was wondering if anyone has ever used them the dosage that I should use. I really want to breast feed for another 4 weeks or so but I know if I can't get my supply up then i will end up giving up and just feeding her on a night

Message: Hi becky
I have been taking fenegreek for a couple of months now, I've found it boosts my very low supply.
I take 2 capsules 3 times a day, it makes you smell a bit like curry, but it's better than babysick lol!

Are you using the ones from holland and barret? 610mg capsules? I am thinking about starting them tomorrow and I have read that I should see a difference in 3- 10 days. I expressed when I got in from uni today and I got my most yet I manage 3.5oz from one side so it made me think that perhaps I have got more milk then I thought and that she could of been having a growth spurt. But I think that if I do get my supply up then I can express for when I am at uni and I may even take my electric pump to uni with me. hmm I'm definiately going to give it a go either way then.

I have read a post that you ony feed Izzie twice a day when do you do it and how are you getting on ?

Hello

I have used it now for a few weeks and noticed a huge difference to my supply. I take 2 tablets 3 times a day with meals and it started to improve within days. Yes you spell like curry but worth it!!

Hi Becky

Thats right, I only feed Izzie twice a day, she loves it. We get on fine with it, it sounds bad, but it fits in with our schedule!! I also try and express twice a day too, although its dwindled to 1 at the mo! If you can express whilst at uni, I would.

The capsules are the 610mg from holland and barrett, and I really do find they help.

I hope you find something  that fits in with you both

xx
