Hi All,

Just posted on FI, but wanted to write here too as have friends on both boards :-)

As title says, had 1st IUI todayl. Said DH's sample was good, so now fingers crossed!! This 2ww's going to be even more of a killer than it was on clomid and injections alone! In scan yest could see 1 good follicle and womb lining looked OK too (for a change!). PMA, PMA... At least my legs get a rest from the injections for another 2 weeks!!

Anyone else at similar stage?

xx

Hi Sparkley

Just wanted to wish you loads of luck for your BFP. Fingers X'ed and hope you can keep yourself bust over the infuriating 2ww.

Just wanted to ask you a couple of questions too, if that's OK.

We're due to have our first IUI in November and don't know anything about it. Do they track you with scans? How often do you have to go to the hospital? Do you have to take drugs as well? Do they examine the swimmers before they put them in? Does it hurt? Did you have to go on a waiting list?

Sorry for the million questions - just very nervous about it!!!

Hope you're feeling OK

Love

Hi Velma,

Ooh, not long til your IUI then....

I was tracked with scans as I had to do injections too (clomid didn't agree with me, so changed to injections where they can alter the dose more). Had CD4 scan, and another a week later CD11 along with trigger injection, then IUI on CD12 as 1 follie ready to go! They did examine swimmers from DHs sample, and said it was good (26 mill and 95% motility - yay!). It didn't hurt at all - was just bit uncomfy like a smear. I'm a wimp so did take a paracetomol before just incase,so maybe that helped?! I didn't have to go on a waiting list at all, luckily. HTH. Any more questions, just ask!

I feel OK, just nervous already for HPT. Not sure I'd believe it if it turns out to be a BFP after all the BFNs so far. Would be a great early Xmas present if it is positive (PMA!)!

Can i ask something pls? You said you were giving your legs some rest..why? ou used to have injections daily?

Did you lay down after they injected? and for how long?  I'm scared they tell me "ok you can get up now!" soon after

Thanks hon!!

Hi,

I had to inject from CD4-11. i'd tried clomid before but kept getting cysts, that's why i was changed to injections. I had 2 tries of clomid (both disasters), then 1 with just injections (BFN), then this time is injections and IUI combined. One injection a day in my thigh until the follie was a good size. Then had pregnyl trigger injection to induce ovulation and IUI day after. Now I just wait!

Yes I was laid down and it took about 5 mins (just like a smear - once the speculum thing was in place, it was about 30 secs, if that, to put sperm in). I was also worried they'd tell me to get up, but she just said i could lay there until i was ready to get up, so i stayed there about 25 mins!! (I figured someone would come in and tell me to go if they needed the space!). I think I was lucky as had appt on a day when not many others were in for IUI so it was fairly relaxed, considering was NHS.

You should go for it. Not as romantic as bd'ing, but worth a try....

xx
