Hello Ladies,

Is it ok if I join you?  I must admit that I didn't think I'd join a board this time around but I really miss sharing this journey with other ivillagers :)

A bit about me: I'm Donna. Happily married for nearly 5 years with a beautiful 21mth DD.  I lost our second angel in June this year at 8 weeks (it still hurts terribly). We've been trying again since September and I'm horribly broody. I'm completely confused when it comes to my cycle and ovulation. After the D&C AF has been coming earlier and earlier. I have a sneeky feeling I've just oved but who knows...

Can't wait to get to know you all,

Donna xx

Hi Debs,

Thanks for the welcome!!

Before DD1 I was a regular 34 days girl (not so great for ttc  because I'm not very patient).  After giving birth my cycle took a while to get back to normal but settled back to around 35 days, which it was when I got pregnant last time.

Since the mc I've had one month at 33 days, another at 32 and my last cycle was 29 days.  I guess the difference isn't too huge but it makes figuring out ovulation a bit tricky. The good thing is that since the D&C I get really strong ovulation pains around about day 14/15. I just didn't expect the mc to make a difference to my cycles like this.

Donna xx

its very strange isnt it hun but also quite normal for this to happen.... its also can happen after you give birth, shorter cycles is great for ttc as you get more "goes" at it, if your ov'ing on day 14-15 this would be why your cycles are shorter!! the luteal phase (between ov and af) always stays the same, its a different ov day that makes you cycle longer or shorter, so ov pains on day 14 you can expect af on day 28-30 depending on your luteal phase length!

love
