Morning Everyone

Does anybody know when calculating maintenance payments, whether car allowance is included in the calculations?

Im in the middle of trying to sort maintenance with my ex husband and he said he's been told to base the figure purely on his basic salary and not include car allowance.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as solicitors fees are getting well out of hand with various questions.

Hi Anthie

Best idea is the ring the CSA and ask them.  Just tell them you have a general query.  You don't have to give them your name or information if you don't want to but they are very helpful in explaining how it is calculated.

Just a quick question, why are you using a solicitor to arrange child maintenance?

Thanks for that, I think I will just ring them as a query.

My solicitor is sorting out my divorce etc so she's been trying to get hold of his P60 for ages as he hasnt submitted it.

As far as I'm aware there's not a lot they do take into consideration, other than travelling to collect/return (sorry, I know that sounds awful) child with contact - and then it needs to be a reasonably long journey.

My DP gets a car allowance, and yes, the CSA included it when they calculated the maintenance he has to pay.
