Holly had her first day at the preschool group at CDC Today. She's been Groups at CDC before but this was first time on her own & for so long (3 & 1/4 hrs). She's never been to any group anywhere alone but she did great. I kept expecting a phone call but there was none. she did the whole session on her own without any tears at all. I can't believe she did so well as only a few ago she was so clingy. It's like once she started walking she developed this new confidence in everything she does.

She actually starts at our local Preschool Tomorrow & i'm really hoping she does as well there, though that may be a bit different as bigger group & all much more 'able; than her. I'm actually more nervous about Tommorow because though the Staff know about her developmental Delay they don't know Holly like the staff at CDC, & she doesn't know them as well. I just hope it not too overwhelming for her.

I can't believe how Grown up my girls seem (eldest DD started school last week too) but i'm so proud how well they have both adapted.

Well done Holly

I can imagine that was quite a big moment for you..Glad that it all went well.

Literally yesterday I signed the boys up for a local nursery. We had been asking at the same one that DD1 Erin went to but we didnt seem to be getting the right answers to the questions about their developmental issues. I phoned another one and within 24 hours we saw them...the boys loved in and they are due to start at the end of the month. I am not sure I am ready for them to go. I know it will do them the world of good but they still feel like my babies to me whereas Erin was more than ready to go.

Hope today goes well at the local preschool

Thanks she did great at local Preschool too. No tears on Wednesday at all, but Thursday she saw me go (other days she'd been to busy playing) & shouted for me & started crying. Anyway after a little hug she happily went off to play one of Nursery Nurses.

I know how you feel about your Boys still being your babies as that how i felt about Holly. Cait was only same age as Holly when she started preschool but she just seemed ready were i wasn't sure with Holly was. I guess due to the developmental delay i just see her as much less 'grown up' but she's proving that not true.

Well really good luck to your Boys & You for the end of the month. I'm sure they will love it.

Great news Helen!  Sounds like she is doing great, what a relief.  I think a few tears are the norm while they are settling in.  Lydia was like this but loves nursery now.

I take it things with your internet connection are all okay now then?x
