Hi everyone

Joe and Harry are now officially 2 as they were due on 2nd October so I really do think of them as 2 year olds. They started nursery a few weeks ago, twice a week. They love it when they are there but have started crying when I drop them off. Within a couple of minutes of being there they are fine and they even happily go to the staff for a hug whilst crying. It breaks my heart but I know they are ok. Joe yesterday pointed at Harry crying and them burst out crying too. It was quite sweet but very sad. The staff are keen to follow the speech therapy guidelines and she is going to see them after half term. Their speech is coming along slowly. Joe says a few things that really only me and Daddy can understand. Harry only really has a couple of words but he says them well. It will come I suppose.

We have lots of appointments coming up...hearing tests, kidney specialist and then prem baby clinic. They got the all clear from great ormond street re their head shapes...they just think they have small brains...not sure if that is a problem or not.

Hope everyone is well
Donna

Hi Donna,

Good to hear from you with an update on the boys.

It sounds like they are coming along great. Lydia is 2 now (her birthday is today!). Lydia was just like the boys when she started nursery. She sobbed her heart out when I dropped her off and it broke my heart and often left me sobbing in the car. But it did get better and now she is quite happy to toddle off an leave me behind.

It sounds like you have a really supportive nursery in that they are going to follow the therapy.

Lydia doesn't say that much either really, although it is coming along more now. I think at this age, regardless of if they are premature or not, they all develop at different rates.

Good news on their head shapes too, though I too do not know the significance of a small brain.

Nice to hear how they are all doing anyway.

Take care

Message: Good to see an update from you.  Jeremiah was very like Joe with his speech at that age, he had quite a few words that only me and DH understood.
