Hi all

Had a fun week this past week with a sick baby, what fun! I ended up taking her to the docs in the end and it turns out she had Roseola, a common childhood infection. Of course she had to have all the symptoms plus the full body rash and was a complete nightmare for the whole week. She would not stop hanging off my leg and crying, wouldn't even go to DH! I'm hoping that we won't have the dinner time whining tonight and that I get to eat some dinner, lol.

Only 4 weeks now till we go on hols to the UK so really starting to look forward to that, I'm just praying that the plane isn't full and that there are some seats to spread out onto. Will have to start writing myself lists of things to do soon, I do like a good list.

Nearly the end of term 3 here for the year so got school holidays looming quickly, what fun ;o) Is Summer's birthday on the 19th though so got that and her party to look forward to. As usual I think I've bought far too many things for her, naughty naughty.

Anyway I hope everyone is fine.

Ta ra

Dawn

Hello Dawn!

hope your little one is better (and less clingy) by now?

It's my DD Anna's birthday on 19th too! She'll be 4. Then it's DS Erik's 2nd birthday on 20th! We have 6 days in a row of birthday related things going on somehow, from the full on kids party at our house to a family party with both sets of grandparents and probably BILs and their OHs, to taking over English speaking toddlers for Erik's party and mini party for both of them at German toddlers, to providing cake for KiGa to celebrate Anna's birthday there (which they do for all the kids) to having English speaking friends over for a late birthday play-date and to finish off any left over cake lol - ooops - and my parents over from the UK (which the kids enjoy more than I do I'm afraid, they are more the sit back and wait to be brought a cup of tea, than the muck in and help with the hoovering breed of parent lol).

I am quite nervous about Anna's party, partly because Anna is overly excited about it (it's a mermaids and pirates party, as she is very, very into mermaids, esp Ariel - we added the pirates as she's invited a couple of little boys lol. I didn't mean it to be fancy dress unless the children fancied it, although Anna has a mermaid dress, but I keep catching her telling children that they have to dress up, and don't know if I have managed to catch all the parents to stress that that is very much optional lol! I am also a bit nervous about a house full of 4 and 5 year olds who only speak German, but the older sister of DD's best friend has confirmed that she is coming to help, so that shouldn't be such a challenge now lol!

Happy birthday to Summer, and hope you all have a fun and illness free birthday week!

:o) Hilary, Anna and Erik

Hi dawn, Hi Hilary

Its so funny to think of you in Aus Dawn just about to start summer when we're clinging the remnants of it here....tonight its supposed to get quite cool - 7 degrees maybe - and the leaves are all turning and falling..sniff...

But i do like winter really so Im not all tears and frowns.

How's Summer doing now? my friends little girl had roseola this year too and it took a long time to get diagnosed as well. Poor things. Aston has been a very healthy boy so far this year which is helpful...just a few sniffles which he bounces through.

We had a party two weeks ago but no more til Oct when my cousin gets married......our birthday madness was June/July/August. Tell you the truth, Im sick of birthdays now...could do with a few months with NONE!
Hope your parties go well though ladies - please share about them after?

Hmm..better sign off though as its bedtime for me

Message: Well as usual has taken me forever to reply! Doesn't help that our internet is so intermittent - luckily the page has loaded ok this time. Summer had a fab birthday - mountains of presents of course, although they always want more. Her party was great fun, she is already talking about how long it is until her next birthday! Not sure if these links will work to a couple of pics but give them a try: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64657624@N00/3976305451/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/64657624@N00/3976302027/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/64657624@N00/3976302031/ Dawn xxx
