it stands at the moment????????????????

Last weekend my hubby and I and a large group of friends had this discussion after way to much curry and beer, but hey thats where the best debates always start.

My Hubby and I have 3 children and although I worry about the state of the economy, if they will ever be able to afford university and a home of their own, about the war on terrisium ect but I can honestly say this would never have stopped me having them.

Some of our friends (none parents) said it was selfish to bring a child into the world as it stands at the moment.

Okay over to you, are we selfish to have bought our children into this environment?????

Hiya

I look around at some of the children being dragged up and I do think why do some people have children if they won't bring them up properly.

In a way I suppose it is a bit selfish but then if we don't have kids then they can't change the world for the better.

Message: the world has always been a mess. the human race will continue because people will keep having children, if the human race had waited til the world was a perfect place to bring kids into it would have died out centuries ago. NO i don't think it is selfish to bring kids into the world at the moment. I will teach my kids values and morals and i believe they can change the world for the better.

No I don't think it's selfish to bring children into the world as it is. I imagine our parents, grandparents etc also thought the world isn't as good as it was.

I do think it's selfish to bring children into the world if you can't afford them though.

Hi :o)

No, I don't think it's selfish to bring children into the world as it is.  We've never (in the limited history I've studied)  had an ideal world for bringing children into and I think all we can aim for is our ideal home, whatever that may be for the couple/individual having the child.

Just wondering Sunshine, when you say "it's selfish to bring children into the world if you can't afford them", what do you mean?

Mumba
