Hi Amy,

I'm not too sure about the likes & dislikes of 12yr old boys - mine are 2 & 4 - but here are a few possibilities.

This is the Art Attack website - it's got loads of ideas if you're both feeling arty.

Check out your local museum or library - they often offer cheap or free activity days during the hols. Ours are offering cartooning and writing workshops I think.

Do you have a local skatepark? Sunny days could be just the time to learn a new skill or two. Try trampolining at a sports centre if it's raining.

Do you have anything planned for Halloween? It could be a perfect opportunity to make a fantastic costume.

Pop into your tourist information centre and find out if there is anything being run by the council for the holidays - sometimes there are sport or drama workshops set up for the holidays.

Why not try to cook a fantastic meal for your Mum one day? You could try something new and brush up on his kitchen skills at the same time!

If all else fails, there's always the cinema!

Hope this helps and have a great week,

Anna :D
