I remeber when bex my second eldest daughter discovered that she was pregnant, not long after splitting up with her boyfriend worrying about what to do. we sat her down and this was 4 wks before her eighteenth birthday. explained to het that we would stand by her whatever she decided,im so glad she went ahead with the pregnancy. For some time i had been ill with severe anxiety and unbeknown to me at the time an underactive thyroid. Throught the pregnancy we took it in turns to go with bex to ante-natal and when she had her 20 week scan and discovered that she was having a girl we were overjoyed. every week we all bought clothes and bits and bobs for here. in the meantime i was still struggling with my illness but did my best to cover up a lot of it as i didnt want to stress bex. bex was told that iff olivia hadnt arrived by her due date then she was going to be induced 2 weeks later. on 06/03/09 olivias due date bex went into labour it was bedlam at home as you can imagine lol. on the way down to the hospital all bex was saying to me was "are you alright"i told her im fine dont worry about me concentrate on yourself. when we got there bex was already 7 cms dilated and an hour later olivia was born at 9.52am weighing 7lbs 2oz. bex was exactly 5 hours in labour. i cried as i watched bex in pain and even more so when olivia was born such a wonderful experiance. bex has fitted into the role as mum brilliantly and it,s great to have a new addition to our family. olivia has been the breath of fresh air that we all needed and she has given me the sense of purpose to try and get out and about more often. i really wouldnt change things for the world,i may have only been 37 yrs old when i became a grandmother but it,s fantastic. love hel x
