Hi all Thanks for your kind messages. Well the good news is Harry is home. He was allowed home because they didn't want him catching anything in hospital. Not sure what was on the ward but they seemed very eager that all the younger children that could be were sent home. So Harry is home armed with oral AB, slept all night and fed normally so far this morning. They never did really find out what infection he had but think water. (still waiting on urine, blood and spinal fluid cultures). The not so good news is we have been told Harry is very floppy for a 10 week old and has something wrong with his shoulders. He has been referred to a physio and to a neonatal consultant. He will need weekly physio for months if not years and they cannot tell us how bad it will be but hoping he will be fine. He is particularly weak on the right hand side. I guess in my heart I did know this, noticed he always lay with his head to left side and had deliberately brought him cot toys and put them on the opposite side. The physiotherapist said that was what she was going to suggest. We have to encourage him to use other side. We are trying to be positive but obviously upset over it. We all want perfect babies. They said its probably down to birth but were not willing to commit themselves (Dh said it seemed like they were worried we were going to try and sue them). The important thing is getting him sorted now and he will always be perfect to us. Loads of Love from Lisa (cl-lollipop) xxx
