Hiya,

Sorry to post this here, but can really do with some advice. Ethan had a seizure about a month ago, it was totally unexplained as he had been well prior to it. After an overnight stay in hospital we were given an emergency supply of Midazolam and are now waiting for an EEG later this month.

Tonight, just as I was about to take him up to bed he started kicking his legs violently (and in synch with eachother, iyswim?) and frantically feeling for his nappy. The episode lasted less than a minute, and ther was no sound from him. He is now tucked up in bed, and I have checked on him about 10 times in the past 30 mins!! and seems fine.

Do you think this has been another seizure? I am so scared for him right now.

TIA for any advice, it will be much appreciated

Hiya Nic,

How scary. I have absolutely no idea if it was another seizure, it sound possibly like a tantrum, minus the noise?! How old is he now? Similar to Dexter I think? (1 in just under 3 weeks) TBH I would get him checked again or speak to the doc, just in case. You can never be too careful can you.

I hope you get some answers soon, take care. x x x

Hi Lise,

I have been in touch with his consultant today (we were due to see him next month) and he is going to try bring the appointment forward. The thing that got me was that afterwards we could not wake him, normally the slightest noise will do the trick, but I was able to lift him without stirring.

I am hoping that it is just some sort of tantrum, but why would he not be verbal with it? Then I thought nightmares, but surely he'd be inconsolible for a few minutes? There are too many 'if's' iyswim. On the other hand I don't want to come across as a neurotic mother. In the end, Ethan slept through til 6 this morning which is unheard of, he normally wakes at least twice!

One last thing, lol, Ethan is a month younger than Lilah!

Hope you are well. Your cakes look fab btw ;)
