Hi all

we've gone quiet again; I hope that means that everything is going well at school. I've been really busy at work, (must arrange the calendar better for next year) so have been awol a bit more than normal.

I break up on Wednesday for half term.  I get a week and 2 days, back on 2nd November.  Before we know it, it will be Christmas.

What's everyone up to?

Tracey

We get 2 weeks for half term...and how she need it! She has a new baby brother to contend with, but  has adapted to this new life changing experience so so well.

DD started in Reception in september, it has been a great term for her socially. She has enjoyed having friends and is really coming out of herself. She is getting differentiated work- not to her level though, but better than nothing. She is a free reader so can bring books from home in- her current favs (after several re-reads) are the 'My naughty little sister' series and anything by Dick King Smith. She is allowed free rein for writing- she is now including things like bracket, colons and commas in her work. Her spelling is mind boggling- her new favourite activity is to spell dinosaur names backwards! I have to write the word down to be able to do this! Maths is going well too...so no complaints about school at all.

We broke up on Friday so two weeks holiday for my two and it's the first October Half Term we've spent at home since DD first started school.

It would have been a nice relaxing start to the holidays had i not found head lice in DD's hair on Saturday. She has waist length hair so it's a bit of a nightmare. So it's out with the tea tree oil for us for the next few days.

We just have playdays organised and DD & DS have 3 days of Sports Camp next week. I would have liked to have a few days in London but DH has managed to book odd days of work in plus i have a physio appointment too.

Message: Sounds like your DD is  finding school interesting and something is making it challenging enough!  I can't even spell dinosaur names forwards LOL  Well done!

Snap Zarina!  I spent an hour and a half on a similar activity - attacking nits- at the weekend.  I wouldn't have noticed but a friend's mum phoned to say her DD had them so probably my DD would have too.  We combed out a few - there is no way I would have noticed them by just looking -  but didn't see any eggs.

Hope they enjoy Sports Camp
