Hello lovely ladies,

Well as the title says we went to see Peppa Pig live on stage yesterday, it was really a belated birthday treat for Erin (3) but we decided to take Sam along and see how he coped.

We were lucky that we had seats right at the back so could make quick exit if necessary!  Sam sat on daddy's knee for quite a long time but did get a little unsettled at the noise and the dark.  After a while he had had enough and said he wanted to go home so hubby took him out for a while to calm him down.  He then came back in and watched quite a lot of it with daddy standing at the back - think he preferred it when he didn't feel quite so 'trapped' sitting in the seats.

He did manage a couple of smiles too!  I was so proud of the way he coped with it but also felt a little upset that he seemed like he wanted to watch it (he loves it on tv) but due to certain things that he struggles to cope with it was still a difficult experience for him.

Erin on the other hand loved every minute of it and cried when it finished!

Hope everyone is having a good day today, we have half term next week and I'm quite looking forward to it!

Love Elaine, Sam (ASD) and Erin x

Thats fantastic Laine, sounds to me like he coped really well, the very fact he went out, THEN came back in is a huge thing.

Its really sad when you know they would love something but other factors are just too distracting/upsetting for them.

we went to see Davros scary dalek leader from Dr Who, i was very nervous about taking him but because the small theatre was silent other than davros's voice, he was fine (its is sound that is a prob for aidan e.g school bell). we are going to The sage in newcastle in dec to see the Northern symphonia do The Snowman, fingers crossed he is ok for that. we also want to see 100 years of disney on ice next year but not sure about it?

let me know if you have more success (or not) lol
