Hi

I am a childminder and have been for the past year - i love my job however i know of other childminders that clearly dont and do it purely for the financial reasons...

The whole nursery run - she should have told you this before she took your son on then you could have made an informed choice - what good is she if she cant take your little one to nursery

Potty training, i always say to the parents to start a potty training programme so to speak when they are on holiday and i will continue it when the child comes back to me - it is difficult sometimes with school runs etc and you need to be realistic as the childminder cant be running back and forth to the toilet all day cleaning up accidents as then the other children in her care would not be getting any attention.  I would def not let her talk over you - say to her DO NOT put him in pull-ups and give her plenty of changes of clothes, if it got to the stage that your son was having alot of accidents then you maybe need to rethink whether or not he is ready.

It is NOT acceptable to leave your son with various family members - do not allow this.

Car Seats - it is NOT acceptable for her to not use the proper stage car seat.

I normally ask parents for a pack of nappies and 1 pack of wipes and realistically this lasts about one month then i ask them to supply more.

To be honest this is taking longer than i thought to reply to.  If it was my child i would not be happy leaving him with this childminder and to say you are not to call her through the day is a disgrace.  Give her notice and move on but before you do report her to the relevant body (depending if you are in Scotland/England).

Good luck

She's constantly forgetting to put our wipes back in the daybag, she's got three packets of our wipes now and when I asked her if I could have ours back this morning she said she never uses ours anyway (I suspect she does, cause if she's accumulated a third packet of wipes something dodgy's going on!)probaby uses our wipes on her grandkids. I texted her yesterday asking if she had our wipes and she simply ignored tne text!
Finally, this morning when I dropped off DS she asked me if I had anything to say to her now as she didn't want to be contacted during the day, she had three kids to look after! Oh no, why the f*** would I ever want to check on my son, now that would be ridiculous wouldn't it?
She never gives DS a token gift on special occasions, nothing for Christmas, nor easter and I'm not expecting anything for his birthday in May. It's just poor cutomer service -I ,ean really, would a dinky little car from Poundland break the bank?
It's apparent that this woman has no respect for me whatsoever so whether she can respect my child is a scary matter!
The previous two childminders were better but due to their personal circumstances they had to let him go. I think I'm going to opt for a nursery this time. Will start seriously looking around now.

Shocking! - The first childminder my daughter had was amazing and we are very good friends, I moved jobs so had to move her elsewhere as it was to far for me to take her, the second childminder a family member didnt go down to well and the 3rd I fell out with in just a few days.. My mum has just retired so is now looking after Georgie and im paying her £600 a month which is what I was paying my childminder. Im lucky to have my mum close by and I know not everyone else has that bonus!

If I was you id remove him immediatly from her care, as the others have said report her to ofsted. Good Luck in finding a new childminder :)
