Message: Hi
Just looking for a bit of advice regarding finances. Myself and My DP are planing on getting pregnant next year. He has 2 daughters - 1 of them stays with us each weekend and quite often in the holidays etc. He was paying what he thought was the correct amount of CSA for years but was then told by the CSA he had been underpaying and so is now paying off a huge under payment .He gets a fairly good wage , but each month the CSA deduct hundreds and leave him with 950 approx! Even if he earns Hundreds of pounds worth of bonus we dont see it, I do belive that he should pay for his kids so dont object. I was just wondering if he will still be ecxpected to pay this amount if we have a baby? Does anyone have any advice. Thanks

Message: Hi hun, my ex pays maintenance through the csa towards my oldest son. He has a child with his new partner and on the calculations the csa send me there is 30% of his earnings that are protected from maintenance calculations because of the child he has living with him.
If you are finding it difficult to cope with the amount he is having to pay is it worth speaking to the csa about reevaluating your income and expenditure and maybe reducing the monthly arrears?
Hope this helps.
Laurie x

Message: Thanks Hun. Yeah we will need to contact them . But he has never told them about his change in circumstances (i.e that he lives with me) I would be worried they would take my salary into consideration and ask for even more money! We manage fine on our combined wage, but I would hope that they wouldnt continue to take the same big chunk off his wage when we have a baby. Sure it will all work out though, Thanks for your reply x

Message: Its ok. I don't think they do take your wages into consideration though, my stepdad used to pay for his kids when they were younger and my mums wage was never touched.
