Hi There,

Im just trying to find some information to pass on to a friend.I wonder if you could help me.She lives in a council house with her husband and he has been abusive to her and wont leave. She cant leave him as they have 3 small children.Surely she has some rights and can kick him out if there has been violence in the home she says she cant kick him out because his name is on the house or something like that.I would really like to help her out as im worried he will hit her again. Is there anywhere to find out her rights?I just want to help her as i know she would leave but she has nowhere to go and doesnt want to move her little girl out of school. Can anyone give me some advice to pass on to her,

Many thanks,
Lisa x

just seen all the links at the side of the page will look on there see if i can find anything to help.

Message: hiya lisa and welcome to the board
it is great your friend has someone to turn to in her time of need. have you seen rhe womans aid and refuge links? they are brilliant for discussing options and for listening to the caller without judgement and 'you should's.
also her council maybe able to help and the police.
also maybe you can show her the abuse checklists and the 'is your abusive partner changing' )or something like that- my pc is v slow so i cant post the link) post in the folder below this one and it will help her to understand that abuse is all about power and is not just physical
all the best
