Just so I know where I'm up to with all the stuff I've been having to deal with over this financial situation, I've decided to write an update so that I can find it and remember if I forget anything. I've typed out a letter and sent it to the Services Manager regarding the £350 to inform her of the situation with not being able to afford it and how there had been no mention of charges or what they would be at any stage of Mum staying in the home. Indeed, I was encouraged to keep her in there without them even considering our financial situation. She would probably have got the letter today. Today I sent off a form to the Adult Social Service dept highlighting additional expenditure that may influence their decision about what we can pay. I have told them about Mum breaking the locks on the cupboards, fridge and freezer, removing food, wearing her shoes down on one side all the time which need to be replaced. I mentioned other things but for her dignity I won't mention here. They should get that form tomorrow or the day after. I will be seeing a Social Worker on Monday at 2pm for another carers assessment. I will await the results of the letter I sent to the Services Manager before making any complaints about the situation. If she waives the payment or drops it to an affordable level then I won't complain but if I'm not happy then I will see that as having grounds for complaint and will then take steps in that direction. So as things stand at the moment I have done as much as I can do and will now sit back and wait to hear from the people I have written to. I hope that I have done enough. Hugs Owly x
