Hi,

Ive heard it mentioned about having a legal separation, can someone advise me on what this is please?

I separated from my husband over a year ago, remortaged my home and bought him out.  We have children but they live with me and he has them a few hours each day and every fortnight so we saw that as being joint custody.  He doesn't pay anything though.

Do I need to do anything legally now as we were going to leave the actual divorce for a while?

Thanks

Personally,I would divorce & get a consent order drawn up, this finalises all your financial dealings & stops either one of you clAIMING against the other. In theory, your ex could come back & want some more of your house in the future without a consnet order in place.

Hi there,

I would tend to agree with Redhelen but if you really don't want to divorce yet then I would urge you to seek legal advice asap on the legal separation lovey.
