LOL, you sound like my kind of girl! Originally me and DH planned a tiny wedding and a Chinese after but got persuaded to have more and even though it was still small it became more stress than I wanted! We both wished we'd stuck with the original plan :)

I don't know how some of these parents have so much cash... if my girls ever imagine we would spend £20k each for them to get married they will have a BIG shock. My plan is to tell them the budget (which will not be a lot) and let them get on with it!!! I don't want to get in debt for life for a wedding. Oh dear, now I'm worried I'm really mean :-S

LOL Mel, you're not mean, just sensible, IMO!  I knew from day one that if I ever got married I was paying for it myself, and my daughter will be taught the same thing (although obviously I'm hoping that she just becomes a nun or something, saving everyone any hassle!! lmao!!).
