ring costs?

I have just read a post on the wedding planner board and to be honest it has made my blood boil!!

I would be happy with any engagement ring that my partner had spent the time choicing, I don't care how much it costs or where he bought it from as long as it was given with love and sincerity who cares????

Am I the only one???

My engagement ring was not expensive but it was all DH could afford at the time and I am happy that he went out and bought it on his own.

No it doesn't and shouldn't. I think the lady's first problem was lying and getting him to buy it in the first place.

I would have loved a platinum ring as I don't like (yellow) gold. There was no way H could afford it so I have white gold. Unfortunately it's not as hard as "normal" gold or close to platinum, but it's mine...

Message: Wow, how shallow is that? I'm quite shocked to be honest. My whole wedding cost less than the ring she wants!!!!!! I chose my own ring but it was only £200, we were dirt poor and I was delighted with it. Unfortunately 10 years down the line I can't actually get it on my finger any more but that's beside the point!

I had to have mine cut off in casualty last year when I broke my finger. OUCH!!!!!!

Will have to get it fixed to wear it again., but will cost about £100 so i am afraid it will languish in the bottom of my jewelry box for a good few more months if not years!!

Hi,

No it doesn't matter how much your engagement ring cost, or infact whether you have one at all! I agree with your sentiment that it's the thought that counts. Had I acted like a brat when we were getting married I would have expected DH to head for the hills screaming "PRINCESS ALERT". I don't have an engagement ring, our wedding cost less than £300 all told and I doubt spending more money could make me any happier than I am now.
