Hi, Sorry if it's me being dense but when you saw the doctor and they diagnosed depression did you speak to them about your drinking? Maybe it's a case that you should work at not drinking alcohol at all if it's a trigger for negative things for you? Also you are talking about an eating plan you wish to follow, but you haven't mentioned food being a problem in your post. As you are suffering from depression I would recommend finding some exercise you'd enjoy doing - there's loads of evidence to suggest that running can help with depression as well as the obvious fitness benefits. If you don't fancy running there are many different things you can choose - a rebounder (mini trampoline) is a great inexpensive way to exercise, walking is fantastic too. So there are many things you can do without having to step foot inside a gym. One more thing - avoid detox rubbish and slim fast, eating "normal" nutritious food is the best way to go both for weightloss and long term health purposes. Don't waste your money. hth
