Weather was supposed to be horrid here, but we have clear blue skies and lovely sunshine! Which of course means it will rain on the 5th.

I really love fireworks but won't be attending any displays as DD is too little. And as I don't live on a hill I won't get to see much. When I lived in Sheffield it used to be fab, we'd have our own fireworks then watch the entire city displays from my attic bedroom. I do miss hills!

Anyone got any plans?

My DP refuses to EVER set off our own display. Methinks I may have to do the honours when the kids are older!

Hiya,

I'm with your DP on this one, I would never set off fireworks and wouldn't have a display at home.

We're going to the local one. I say we as in DD2 and I! I haven't mentioned it to DS yet but I am hoping he is going to come if DP is away as I hate the dark and it gets soooo busy that another adult around would be handy for DD2. DD1 will be at her dads and I won't know until Wednesday if DP will be home but I am hoping he will be. We went to the same place last year and although really busy it was good.

DD2 liked the fireworks last year so I am hoping she will again this one. :-)

How old is your DD2? It half crossed my mind to take Caitlin, but then thought she's probably too young and may get frightened!

DD2 was 3 in September but we have taken her for the past two years so she would have been Caitlin's age the first time we took her. She liked them and on the way out it was so sweet, there were loads of people and she was in her buggy, she just grabbed hold of this girls hand and started holding it!

I'd say take her and see what she thinks.

Hi,

I don't think we'll be doing anything as I'm not sure how our bunnies will take to the fireworks - they're both very nervous so it might be best to be in with them.

When we lived in York it was nice to go over to Harrogate to the bonfire on the stray, always fun. My neighbour generally has fireworks in the back street each year, but he's a classy guy so it's only to be expected... He likes to think he's king of the street and will do pretty much anything to get everyone looking at him *roll eyes*

I may well be off to Stockleys for some bonfire toffee though :-)
