First of all, Hello Anjula, I've seen you on the TV! How exciting that you are on here!

I'm a curvy lady, around a 16 to 18, and I'm happy about my body and fairly confident, but it is hard to stay that way when my mum makes little comments about my weight all the time. I'm 29 by the way!

I didn't lose weight for my wedding, much to her dismay, and she said that the dress suited me as it covered up my rolls of fat.

I've spoken to her before about it, basically saying I'm happy the way I am and that her comments hurt me, and she stopped for a while, but it seems she has started again.

I think it also stems from how she feels about her own body, and I don't want to end up with a bad body image like her.

Any tips on how I can stay a curvy confident woman?

Hi,

First of all I am DELIGHTED that you are happy with yourself. Huge tick - very happy to hear it!

Sometimes mums can be critical and clearly what you did before worked. I would just reaffirm the boundary around the difference between you and your mum and how you view your bodies.

There may be a teeny bit of jealousy there also, just don't take it to heart!

This will help keep your confidence up and keep staying positive!

Good for you!!
