We've been fortunate in that we've not had to turn down any offer's in the past, but I do know that some offices will then drag their heels about offering alternative addresses, but I also know of sittuations where they have been very quick in offering them. It can depend on the office that you're dealing with and the reasons why you have turned down your initial offer.

Good luck with it.

hello,

It depends on whether there are any available houses in the area. If that one quarter was the only empty one you might be waiting a long time before they offer anything else. Also, a different quarter might not be any better. But if you are able to have a look around or talk to your housing officer you might work out (or find out directly form the officer) what's available and if you like one house more than any other, you can ask for the specific address.

The last quarter we moved into was pretty bad but we accepted it before seeing it. And as we accepted it, we had to stay in it for at least 6 months before applying for a new one. I found out what was available and even had a good look inside some of them (it's not the job of a HO to show you around but if they're nice - like mine is- they might do. Always worth making an effort to get to know your HO) We asked for the specific house and luckily we got it.
