I'm not entirely clear on what it is your wanting opnions on, are you just wanting to know if what you are doing is wrong?

Ask yourself these questions, hypothetically would you be quite happy to show your DH all the emails you've been sending to your american friend? (i'm not suggesting you do, i would like to emphasise this is purely hypothetical) if not, why not> would he be hurt or upset by some of the things you've been saying? If so then you've basically answered your own question. People only keep secrets for 2 reasons

1. In order to surprise someone

or

2. In order to prevent form hurting somebody's feelings

Lets say for example the shoe was on the other foot and it was your DH having the email conversations with another woman, how would you feel? Is there ANYTHING in the email that would make you suspicious?

I have to say i'd be fuming if my DF was emailing another woman saying things like "in different circumstances we would probably be an item", that immediately suggests there are feelings, and these feelings, whether you act on them or not, are something your husband would be hurt by. Your being emotionally unfaithful.

Are you happy in your marriage sweetheart? How did you first hear about this fella in america?
