Hiya Everyone,

How are you all?
I need a bit of advice/some tips/suggestions, whatever lol!

The problem is DH and I don't really spend much quality time together. It seems we just have different interests, I've always known it but keep hoping we'll find a solution!

He says he'd rather be on his computer game in the other room because he gets bored watching tv (which I understand, that's why I'm always doing something else while watching!), so I suggest things like playing the xbox together, playing cards or boardgames, anything really but he always says he doesn't want to do whatever I've suggested!

Has anyone got any ideas?? The only thing I know would get his interest is nookie but I don't want that to be the only reason he spends time with me!

Thanks in advance, Lisa XxX Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker Lilypie Kids birthday Ticker Daisypath Next Aniversary Ticker

Hi Lisa

Your not alone!

DF and I are similar. Do you watch films together? (ahem not the dirty ones lol!) Are you able to have a meal after the kids have gone to bed?

Can you get a sitter for a couple of hours and have a few hours together?

It is difficult trying to find quality time together I agree especially with kiddies about!

Just a few ideas hun xx

Thats a tough one hun, although I certainly agree about the TV, I hate it being on just for the sake of it and only want to watch it when there is absolutely something on that I want to watch. I prefer to interact in some way whereas DH could sit and watch it 24 7, he knows how I feel about it and tries to accommodate. I think thats the key, both coming to some kind of compromise! Have you tried asking him for a few suggestions rather than trying to think of something on your own??

There is nothing wrong with having dfifferent interests away from each other, we do too but still find time to be together.

Hiya Chick,

Hmmm that is a tough one! I too agree though that just sitting and watching tv can be boring as hell! Think I've told you before, but we tend to buy DVD box sets & films and watch them so we know we're gonna be watching something we both like, that we both find interesting & that we can talk about afterward! - we hardly ever watch actual tv! but if he doesn't like doing that either then I wouldn't know what to suggest if he doesn't want to play boardgames / cards / xbox.... there's not a whole lot more that you can do is there lol! sitting down to a nice meal together & having a general chat is a good way of spending time together... or if you get the chance (as I know we don't!) go out for a nice meal or something?

Sorry not a great deal of help there!

Hope you're ok :-)

Vicky xxxx

Hi

We had an idea where we pick a meal together each week and cook it together. Its better if you have one where neither of you have cooked it before so you are in it together on the same level (hub and I both think we are the king of the kitchen LOL). We dont have kids but I guess you could do this after they have gone to bed?

We both have things on the TV that we really like to watch - like Masterchef, Come dine with me (there is a theme here ;0)) and Americas Next Top Model (LOL). We record them on our system and make sure we save them so we can watch them together. Sounds sad but its great!

You need to start with something that isnt too much effort...we have entertained ourselves playing games in the past but we are a tad competitive!!!

HTH
