Hi

This is my first post on this board as I now qualify as a newly wed (2nd time round). We were married on 24th October and after a week in Scotland face the daunting task of informing people of my new name.

Already everyone I have called all need to see the marriage certificate and it looks like the only copy I have is going to be in the post for months to come. So I wondered how everyone else has found a way around it - do you get a couple of copies or just wait to have it returned and send to the next one on the list? Do any companies just take your word for it, like utilities, tv licence etc.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone,

Hi Karen

Congratulations on your marriage and welcome ot the board!

I married in July and I still havent changed everything! Ive done the major ones like banks, driving licence etc but I just havent got round to doing any others. Im still in my maiden name at work due to not confusing my customers so Im a bit of a dual identity at the moment! Im just sort of planning to change things as and when they re-new..

Im not much help Im afraid :)

Hello and congratulations on your wedding, afraid I can't help with the name change as months later I've not done mine, it's not a neccessity so I just didn't get round to things, I keep saying I will but it never actually gets done.

Anyhow I'm Rachael, married my Dh on the 2nd Jan this year, I've got two children 11 & 9 and we've just had a little girl 6 weeks ago.

Welcome to the board, hope you're enjoying married life

Hi

Thank you all for the replies. You have made me realise there's no need to panic and doing it gradually seem normal.

Lovely to meet you all,
