What is being unfaithful?

My wife an I don't have an overly active sex life; we 'do it' about 6times a year for the past 5 or 6

years or so. I think both of us have stopped trying, I know I have.

Is it being unfaithful to 'relieve oneself' while alone in the shown while having a fantasy about some-one other than your partner?

Just a question, that is all?

No, it is not. Even if you have a full and active sex life.

What is being unfaithful? I would think that would be cheating on your wife. What that is will be different things to different people but to me it is crossing the physical line or actually seeking out a "relationship" with someone else.

Hi,

I've never posted on this board before, but I am very curious about this topic of what guys consider is being unfaithful.  I'm married but a bit lonely so I recently became a member on an online friendship site - this was a site purely for friendship and was not for dating/hooking up/lonely housewives looking for fun etc

I loaded a profile picture - very modest, certainly not anything that could be considered sexy.  But at least a third of the blokes that have responded have immediately or after a couple of emails starting making suggestions about going on Messenger, speaking on the phone, asking whether I'm naughty, do I like to flirt and so on.  Most of these men had put on their profile that they were married. What gives? Do men not consider online relationships to be cheating?  I can't even see the appeal of engaging in sex chat with an almost complete stranger.  Is this a male thing?

Yours in confusion

MsRobyn

Hi msrobyn and welcome,

I have made a concious decision not to go on any web based chat site, so cannot comment on who is there. However, from what I have heard, because it is anonymous as far as you want it to be, anyone can be more open and adventuress and even a bit dangerous, than they normally are. The site you accessed could be considered as somewhere self confessed lonely people can go, which makes them a bit vulnerable. There are clearly people on there, men in your case, who may be more lonely than you, or who may be using the people who posty on there, to try and get a sexual relationship with, where they otherwise feel inadequate in face to face situations. I would say it is not limited to just men hitting on women. Simply do not answer their messages.
